Learn more about the Throne Privacy Policy

Throne was built with privacy at its core. This article explains how your data is collected, secured, and used — and what Throne does to ensure your information stays private, encrypted, and fully under your control.

Your data, always

The data you share with Throne is deeply personal. That’s why privacy is at the core of everything we do. We believe health insights should never come at the expense of your privacy. You should be able to know your body better without giving up ownership of your data.

We don’t sell your data. We don’t use it to show you ads. We don’t share it with anyone outside Throne unless you explicitly ask us to, like when you export it to share with a doctor.

Built-in privacy

Privacy is not a feature we’ve added on top — it’s part of the foundation. From the very beginning, we designed the Throne system to collect only what’s necessary to provide you with useful, accurate insights.

When your device detects a session, it sends raw image data to the cloud for processing. The system filters out any frames that contain human anatomy. These frames are discarded and are never stored or sent to your account. We built this system so the device focuses only on what matters for the analysis — not on you.

Secure by default

Once processed, your data is encrypted using industry best practices:

  • Data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2

  • Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256

Only a small number of trained Throne engineers and support team members have access to account-level data, and only when necessary to help troubleshoot an issue. That access is logged, limited, and strictly controlled.

Anonymous data for better insights

To improve our models and generate more accurate insights for everyone, we do sometimes use session data in aggregate. But we don’t tie this data back to your identity. When we use de-identified images to improve Throne’s performance, they contain no user metadata and are never linked to your account.

In short, your identifiable data stays yours. Anonymous data helps us make the product better — but never at your expense.

You stay in control

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. You can export your session history in a secure, portable format. And you can always reach out to our team if you have questions about how your data is being used.

Privacy is not a nice-to-have. It’s not something we’ll improve later. It’s already built in. That’s our promise — and we intend to keep it.
